Book an appointment
Schedule a new session for a client, with automatic conflict detection against the clinician’s existing appointments and meetings.
Before you start
- The client exists in Simone.
- The assigned clinician has availability for the chosen time.
Who can do this
Scheduling staff (admin, clinic manager, front desk) and clinicians can create appointments on the schedule.
Step by step
- 1
On the schedule view, click an empty slot, or click the ‘+ New’ button in the toolbar.
- 2
In the Quick-Add modal, select the client, clinician, service, and time. If a conflict is detected, you’ll see a warning before saving.
- 3
Save. The appointment is created with status ‘Booked’, and a supervising clinician is assigned automatically if one is set on the client.
If something isn’t working
Tap a question to see the likely cause and the fix.
The modal shows a conflict — what does it check?
Why: Simone checks for overlapping appointments and meetings for the same clinician in the chosen time range.
Fix: Pick a different time, re-assign the clinician, or confirm you want to double-book (not generally recommended).
Why do I see a greyed-out appointment I can’t click?
Why: That’s a ghost appointment — a read-only view of the clinician’s appointment at another clinic in your organization.
Fix: Switch to that clinic to view or edit it.
