Complete a progress summary
Use active case and treatment-plan context to summarize progress, report goal status, and support treatment-cycle renewal decisions.
Before you start
- The client has recent treatment data and, ideally, a linked treatment plan.
- The active treatment cycle is near the progress-summary threshold or a manual summary is needed.
Who can do this
SLPs and clinical leadership complete progress summaries. Clinic managers and admins may help route or correct records depending on clinic policy.
Step by step
- 1
Open the client, case, or treatment cycle workspace and choose Progress Summary.

- 2
Start a new summary. Confirm the client, clinician, date range, active case, and active treatment cycle.
- 3
Load goals from the latest treatment plan when available, then document progress, barriers, and recommendations for each goal.
- 4
Add the renewal recommendation, next-step plan, and any notes needed by front desk or clinic management.
- 5
Save and generate the PDF if the summary needs to be shared with the family, school, insurer, or stored as a chart artifact.
If something isn’t working
Tap a question to see the likely cause and the fix.
The summary did not create from the cycle reminder.
Why: The cycle threshold reminder may have been dismissed or the active cycle may not be linked to the appointment stream.
Fix: Open the client manually, create the progress summary from the tab, and check the treatment-cycle links before closing the reminder.
The wrong goals loaded.
Why: An older or unrelated treatment plan may be the latest linked plan for the client or case.
Fix: Confirm the treatment plan history and update the linked plan before completing the summary.
